Following the launch of her new TV show, the Price of Beauty, Jessica Simpson did a photo shoot and interview for Marie Claire magazine completely bare, with no make up or photo shop. Or so they say. The magazine claims that Jessica Simpson is going completely natural in her new photo shoot, but after reading the comments and looking at the pictures myself it is very difficult to believe that she isn't wearing even a hint of make nor has had the photo touched up. She wanted to do this shoot to prove that beauty comes from the insides and is more than just surface deep. After going under the scrutiny that the media has put her through this past year with her weight and the well known, "mom jean" look, she is using her star power to turn this into a new economic advantage. She is promoting beauty from within, and proving that you don't have to be a size zero with perfectly dyed and styled hair and makeup to be seen as beautiful. Not only is she trying to show this by traveling to different countries and seeing their different views of beauty but she is using herself and an example of every one's natural beauty without the big star makeover. The only question is, that these pictures bring up, is is she really going all natural and standing by her words. It claims that she is bare with no photo shop but what about having the perfect lighting, shadowing and blown hair?
What I also found interesting was at he bottom of this article was another link stating "3 facts that make you skinny." Little bit of a mixed message?
It almost seems like the media is making fun of what she is doing or stating it as something ridiculous and not the common desire by sending this mixed message.
